Who is our Pastor?
Rev. Dr. Kevin J. Kohnke (pronounced Cone-key) is the pastor at Trinity. Dr. Kohnke received his Masters of Divinity in 1991 from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2002, he earned a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri. Denver Seminary in Denver, Colorado granted the degree Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2009. The University of Nebraska – Lincoln awarded the degree of Ph.D. in 2010, major: Human Science, specialization: Gerontology. As you can see he believes in lifelong learning.
Rev. Kohnke’s first call was Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville, Missouri. Then a move to Wisconsin brought Rev. Kohnke to serve the dual parish of St. John Lutheran in Almond and St. Paul Lutheran in Wild Rose. The next stop was St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reedsburg, Wisconsin where Rev. Kohnke served as Associate and then Senior Pastor at this church and school. Peace Lutheran church in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin was the next congregation he served. He then spent 8 years as professor at Concordia University Nebraska (CUNE). Since July 1, 2015 he has served as the director at We Must Carry On, Inc., a Recognized Service Organization of the LC-MS, and a non-profit that helps congregations begin grief support groups. He also sells physical products on Amazon to support the work of this ministry.

Rev. Kohnke is married to Candy and together they have two daughters Grace and Mary. They have been members at Trinity since 2015.
